Call for Social Media Coordinator


Pixelles is looking for a social media coordinator to help us get the word out about our activities, events and programs. Please note that all positions at Pixelles are volunteer-based with honorarium ($600 CAD biannually) and remote. We are very understanding if you ever need a pause or helping hand. Or the opposite, where you'd like to do more!This would be an ideal position for a person looking to do impactful diversity, equity, & inclusion work and who has experience using social media to promote activities for nonprofits, grassroots organizations, activism, school clubs, professionally or avidly in games, streaming, esports, events, education, or another industry.

What You'll Do:

Here's a quick snapshot of this role based on the past/current needs. Of course, we're flexible to adjust and/or expand the role based on your expertise, growth, and assessments.

  • Help us promote events, programs and application deadlines through social media, on various platforms, in English and French

  • Collaborate with program coordinators, events organizers and directors on messaging using provided assets

  • Shout-outs to our partners and sponsors

  • Relay any questions (asked on social media) about our programs and events to coordinators

  • Plan social media and outreach campaigns

  • Help modernize our social media with the shifting communications landscape

Who You Are:

  • Must be bilingual (English and French)

  • Able to commit between 0-5 hours per week. Our busiest periods tend to be from August → November and February → March

  • Comfortable using Facebook Pages/Groups, Twitter, Linkedin, and other social platforms

  • Familiarity with Pixelles and the games industry

  • Preferably in Québec (Canada) but we're open to other provinces/locations

  • Identify as woman, nonbinary, trans, genderqueer, or another gender that has been historically excluded from game development
