[Closed] Call for a Communications Coordinator

Pixelles is looking for a communications coordinator to help us get the word out about our activities, events and programs. Please note that all positions at Pixelles are volunteer-based (even the directors are volunteers) and remote. We are very understanding if you ever need a pause, do less hours or could use a helping hand.

This would be an ideal position for a person looking to do impactful diversity, equity, & inclusion work and who has experience with communications or using social media to promote activities for school clubs, nonprofits, grassroots organizations, activism, professionally or avidly in games, streaming, esports, events, education, or another industry.

You’ll receive a $600 CAD honorarium every 6 months. This position is set to start in end of February 2022 (flexible). Applications close February 18th, 2021.

What You’ll Do

  • Help us promote events, programs and application deadlines through social media, on various platforms, in English and French
  • Plan social media and outreach campaigns
    Planifier des campagnes de médias sociaux et de sensibilisation
  • Collaborate with program coordinators, events organizers and directors on messaging, branding from provided assets
  • Create messages to publicly recognize our partners and sponsors
  • Relay any questions, asked on social media, about our programs and events to coordinators
  • Send out newsletters using provided assets and copy

Who You Are:

  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Based in Montréal (though we organize remotely via Slack)
  • Able to commit between 0-7 hours/week. Our busiest periods are from August to November and February to April
  • Comfortable using Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Mailchimp, Twitter, Linkedin Page
  • Previous experience with communications or using social media to promote activities for school clubs, nonprofits, grassroots organizations, activism, professionally or avidly in games, streaming, esports, events, education, or another industry
  • Familiarity with Pixelles and our programs/activities
  • Not a cisgender man

Don’t worry about using a formal tone or rambling on. The directors (Jennifer, Rebecca, Stephanie and Tanya) are very casual.
